3. Data We Process

3.1 Data processed when you visit our Website (server logs)
When you access our Website, your browser automatically transmits certain technical information to our web server. This includes:

3.2 Website hosting and platform
Our Website is provided via a website building and hosting service (currently Squarespace or a similar provider). In doing so, the provider processes the data listed above (server logs, technical data) on our behalf.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with this provider in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
3.3 Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage, pixels) on our Website.
  • Necessary cookies
These are required to operate the Website (e.g. security, basic functions, cookie consent). The Website may not function properly without them.

5. Cookie Policy (Overview)

5.1 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device by your browser when you visit our Website. They can perform various functions, such as:
  • enabling the technical operation and security of the Website,
  • remembering your settings and preferences,
  • helping us understand how the Website is used so we can improve it.
We also use comparable technologies (e.g. local storage, pixels) that serve similar purposes. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as “cookies”.
5.2 How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
  • Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the basic operation and security of the Website (e.g. load distribution, security functions, remembering your cookie choices). Without them, the Website would not function properly.
  • Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use our Website (e.g. which pages are visited, how often, how long visitors stay). We use this information to improve our Website and services.
  • Preference / customization cookies
These allow the Website to remember certain settings or choices (e.g. your previous selections), to enhance your browsing experience and provide a more tailored interaction.
We do not currently use cookies for behavioural advertising or marketing on this Website.
5.3 Cookie banner (“Accept all” / “Manage cookies”)
When you visit our Website for the first time (and periodically thereafter), we display a cookie banner.
  • By selecting “Accept all”, you agree to our use of cookies and similar technologies to enhance your browsing experience, security, analytics and customization.
  • By selecting “Manage cookies”, you can make more detailed choices, including refusing non-essential cookies (such as analytics and customization cookies).
You can change your selection at any time:
  • via the “Manage cookies” option in the banner (where available again), or
  • via a “Cookie Settings” link in the footer (if configured), where you can adjust or withdraw your consent.
Legal basis:
  • Strictly necessary cookies: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional Website).
  • Analytics and preference/customization cookies: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, given via the cookie banner).
You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting your choices via “Manage cookies”. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
5.4 Managing and deleting cookies in your browser
In addition to the options in our cookie banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings. You can:
  • delete cookies already stored on your device, and
  • configure your browser to block cookies or to notify you before they are set.
Please note that if you block or disable certain cookies (especially strictly necessary ones), some parts of the Website may not function correctly.
Further details about the specific cookies and technologies used (including providers, purposes and storage periods) are available in our cookie management tool under “Manage cookies” and in this Privacy Policy.

6. International Data Transfers

Depending on the service providers we use (e.g. hosting, email, analytics), personal data may be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA (for example, to the United States).
In such cases, we ensure that an appropriate level of protection exists, for example by:
  • an adequacy decision of the European Commission, and/or
  • concluding Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with the respective provider and, where necessary, implementing additional safeguards.
You can contact us for details on the specific safeguards used for each service provider.

7. Storage Period

We store personal data only for as long as required to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. After that, data is deleted or anonymised in accordance with legal requirements.

    • If we process data for direct marketing, you can object at any time without giving reasons.
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
If processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
To exercise these rights, please contact:
